Welcome!

I’m so excited that you’re here! Whether you’ve been singing for a while or you’re just getting started, know that there is always room for improvement and your voice can do things you probably never thought it could. We tend to think of singing as something that you’re naturally good at or not, and that becoming a great singer takes a lot work. While it’s true that being truly great takes consistent practice and intention, finding improvements in your voice is often much easier than you would think!

Singing is also very personal. Unlike other instruments, our voice comes from us, so the learning process can often feel more emotionally difficult and vulnerable. However, your voice IS like an instrument, and you can learn to “play” it in a similar way.

I’ve been singing for almost my whole life. I was never the “best” singer in my classes growing up. But I did practice consistently and created joy around the learning process. I’ve used my background in choir, years of taking private voice lessons myself, as well as my education in performance and vocal pedagogy to help students from elementary school to singers who were over 60.

I’m so excited for you that you are considering taking private voice lessons! I truly believe singing is one of the most rewarding things you can do. In my studio, you’ll learn to embrace mistakes, putting joy and discovery at the forefront of everything we do.

Build Confidence and
Embrace your voice

Build a new mindset

Anyone can learn to sing. You just need the right tools, the right mindset and consistency. Looking at this as a journey rather than a destination makes it more enjoyable.

Celebrate Mistakes

“Mistakes” are how we learn. You have to make new sounds with your voice and body. Of course your voice will crack and sound funny. It’s doing something it’s never done before.

Focus on Joy

You’re singing because you enjoy doing it! Focusing on that helps you take yourself less seriously - which opens the door for more progress.

Voice Lessons that change you

  • Are you curious about improving as a singer?

  • Are you afraid of making the “wrong” noise for fear it will prove you’re not a “good singer”?

  • Are you ready to improve your voice but you’re not sure how?

Private voice lessons are amazing because they allow you to get the feedback on what’s holding you back, rather than generalized feedback for a group of people.

Everyone has challenges with their singing

Just as everyone’s talking voice sounds different, so does their signing voices! Everyone speaks differently because of their family, culture, language, location and many other things! This also influences how your body will tend to want to sing. So it makes sense that everyone has different “challenges” when it comes to singing. You just have to teach your body how to make the sounds that you want. I promise it’s way less difficult and intimidating than it’s made out to seem.

Singing Lessons Can help you improve your voice, confidence and performances.

A great singing coach won’t only help you improve your voice, but will also help you improve your overall confidence and mindfulness. Learning how to use your voice requires a certain level of comfort and acceptance of yourself. Singing lessons should not only focus on the great, beautiful sounds you make, but also the weird, what the HECK was that noises as well. In fact, we will make many of those crazy sounds on purpose to get the feelings and recognition we need! And I’ll be doing them right along with you!

In our voice lessons, we will work on (depending on your age):

  • Building confidence

  • Building awareness of your body

  • Diction

  • Breath Support

  • Vowel Shapes

  • Performance Technique

  • and more!

There are so many layers and things you can learn to improve your voice. You have the ability inside of you! You just have to practice and be open!

You May Have Some Questions
About Singing Lessons…

I’m just doing this for fun. Are voice lessons worth it?

Absolutely! We have this idea that you should only invest in improvement for something if you plan to make money from it. However, I think we are starting to realize that investing in our joy and wellbeing is just as rewarding, if not more so!

Am I too old/Young?

I don’t believe there is a certain age that is too old or young to benefit from singing lessons. If you’re a parent, you know if your child is ready to listen to and apply directions they receive. I have also taught seniors who benefited from private lessons, so there truly is no age limit, it’s really up to your comfort. If I feel it may be harmful to receive singing lessons, I will let you know.

I’m scared to sing in front of someone i don’t know.

I can totally relate to this. As someone who was very shy with my voice for a long time, I know how scary it can be to sing solo in front of someone you never met. It’s of course going to be more uncomfortable at first, but my students tend to warm up pretty quickly. I also typically sing alongside my students until I feel they are ready to sing on their own. You can also always ask me to sing with you.

Start singing with confidence

Voice lessons are so fun! I truly believe one of the best benefits is the personal confidence it gives you to carry into other aspects of your life. Whether you want to be on the stage or kill Olivia Rodrigo’s newest release in the shower, private singing lessons can help you get there. Reach out today to schedule your first lesson!
